**The Treasurer, Mr. Jerry Henderson, wishes to remind the congregation that the expenses of running the church continue even when parishioners are absent on vacation.  Please keep your pledge payments coming in through the summer.**

Rector’s Note

The roses on the altar this Sunday are for Amy Grace Ariail and Caroline Ann Westberg – our babies born this month.

And speaking of babies, a little reminder re: NURSERY on Sundays. The Nursery space, equipment, etc. are geared for those 3 years of age and under. Older children create not only a safety hazard but a difficulty for our caregiver.   If this gives you concern, please let’s talk about it so we can make other arrangements.  Blessings.

Announcements for the week of

March 23, 2008

Security in the Church

The Vestry voted some time back to institute some security measures for the safety of our children.  Sadly, this is the norm in most churches who feel it is necessary.  We are beginning to lock all outside doors after the service begins except for the main entrance.  The bathrooms down from the office will be open.  If you are a little late, please don’t be offended if you have to walk around to come into the church.  We feel that the way our church is laid out it is important that we have this security in place for the peace of mind of parents and others.

Save a Life – A Simple Test

Do you know the signs to look for when someone may be having a stroke?  In a few short minutes look for these signs:

            1.         Have the person smile and stick out their tongue.  If they can’t smile and stick out their                           tongue evenly, note it.

            2.         Have the person raise their arms.  If unable to do so, note it.

            3.         Have the person repeat a simple sentence.  If unable to speak and repeat clearly, note it.

Call 911 – quickly and describe the symptoms.  You could save a life.  The first 3 hours is critical for treatment and reversal of the damage.
