St. Thomas is a well established parish which has served Thomasville for many years. The vision of St. Thomas Episcopal Church is: To know Christ and to make Him known.

Our worship life at St. Thomas is a blend of traditional and contemporary styles. We use the 1979 Book of Common Prayer which provides a wide range of worship options. Our music is drawn from ancient to modern sources. It is designed to support the themes we are proclaiming in worship.
For many years, we have been following a God-given vision of being a healing church. Christ's healing ministry has been exercised in many forms throughout our history. For over a decade, healing through prayer and anointing has been part of our main Sunday service as well as weekday gatherings for worship. Many years ago, we started a free clinic using voluntary medical help. It outgrew our facilities and had to be transferred to our local hospital. A Visiting Team still has a close working relationship with the hospital. We affirm that there is harmony between medicine and prayer to effect God's healing.
Last year many individuals and families received help with utilities, rent, medicine, and food due to the generous donations of our members. We work with and support other helping agencies in our community such as the Food Bank, Medicine Bank, Salvation Army, and the Rescue Mission.
St. Thomas enters the 21st century conscious that we have a Christian tradition to pass on to this generation, but also aware that we must experiment with new creative approaches to communicating the Christian gospel. We invite you to join us in this journey.

Our last Rector, Father Charles Bennett, retired on July 31, 2006, and has moved to Florida. The Reverend Judith Ann Jones joined us as our Interim Rector in February, 2007. She became Rector of St Thomas Parish in August, 2008. We feel blessed to have Revered Judy among us. Her enthusiasm and energy is contagious and we have an exciting Program planned for 2008-2009.
